Cobalt's History
The element cobalt was discovered in 1735 by Sweden chemist Georg Brandt. He proved that cobalt was what caused glass to appear blue, not the element bismuth like people thought proir to the element being found. The word cobalt has German orgins, and comes from the word 'kobalt' meaning evil spirit.
